Join our Efficiency Vermont expert, Steve Spatz, to learn about air to water heat pump technology.

Whole-house heat pump heating and cooling in place of fossil fuel systems is an expanding sector of the residential HVAC market. No longer a theoretical possibility, it’s now a major policy objective of state and federal carbon reduction goals. Participants will learn how standard residential hydronic principles, equipment, and systems common to the residential hydronic heating market of the past 40 years can be adapted to use with modern air-to-water heat pump technology.

Learning Objectives
1. How to design and install a straight forward and cost comparable air to water whole house heating system

2. What components and equipment are required to set up a basic system design for heating

3. What options are available to create more flexibility in the function of the system for functions like cooling and auxiliary heat

4. Basics hydronic distribution design for 120 degree or lower delivered water temperature from a buffer tank

Course is approved for 1.5 AIA credits
