join AIA New Hampshire on July 27th for an architectural tour and presentation of the Dartmouth College Rowing Boathouse and Training Facility. The new addition of the building was designed by ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge and won an award in the 2022 AIANH Design Awards Program. Philip Laird, FAIA will lead the tour and presentation.

The existing Boathouse was built in 1986 primarily as a social space – in the vernacular of traditional boathouses. It was not financially viable, or aesthetically appropriate to design the addition as a visual extension of the existing building. A primary challenge was creating an affordable addition that respected the scale of the existing building with a building program that required a lot of area on a single floor.
