Two multifamily housing projects will be presented by two client-and-designer teams, each having been converted from industrial buildings (one a former mill, and one a former water pumping station). The presenting teams will review the challenges of health, remediation, and energy efficiency; the innate environmental aspects of urban historic buildings; the relationship between historic designation and environmental upgrades; and potential sources of financing.
