CSI VT Presents: Lighting Specs - What to Include and How To Get What You Want
Date: 3/16/23 3:00 PM
Website: events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event
Location: Burlington, VT
Hosted by CSI Vermont, this panel discussion will reflect different perspectives on lighting design and specifications and the relative importance of lighting to the project owner.
Lighting specifications include details that are included in the fixture spec, with lighting controls now playing a more important role than ever before. Participants will discuss strategies for taking the guesswork out of your specifications and selections. We will cover recent lighting industry consolidation and how it’s affecting lighting selection and procurement. We’ll also address conditions and situations that can result in unwanted substitutions and how to overcome these.
Learning Objectives include:
What information to provide in a lighting schedule, and how this varies with the type of project.
Do fewer active lighting rep agencies in the Vermont market affect your ability to get spec assistance?
How to help clients budget for lighting during the design process to eliminate unwanted substitutions.
What does it mean to get a competitive bid? Does this differ for different types and sizes of projects?
How are specified products often substituted, and why? How does this affect the project and/or the client?
