Mentor for a Day is an event designed to give those with a specific area of expertise the opportunity to share their knowledge and to facilitate an open platform where others can ask questions and learn about topics they are interested in. This event is open to all professionals, emerging professionals & students. The topics of the event are as follows:
Professional Practice Mentor: Hear from those who have knowledge in running an architecture firm whether as a Principal or a Partner in the business. We will be getting first-hand accounts and stories from those who are currently practicing as well as retired veterans. Speakers have experience in running either a small firm, a medium size firm, or a large firm.
List of speakers:
Bob Duncan, AIA, Duncan Wisniewski Architects
Frank Guillot, FAIA, Guillot Vivian Viehmann Architects
Sandra Vitzthum, AIA, Sandra Vitzthum Architect, LLC
Alex Halpern, AIA, Freeman French Freeman
New Software & Technologies Mentor: Hear from those who are working with new and innovative software that they believe is essential to the future of how we practice. Get a glimpse into the programs we use today and find ways to implement them in your own offices. Software discussed will include Revit, Cove Tool, and QR code.
List of speakers:
Nathalia Ellis, AIA, Freeman French Freeman
Josh Chafe, AIA, Treux Cullins
We've reserved the first hour to an hour and a half of the event to give our speakers the full attention of the floor. Refreshments will be provided for informal discussion and networking time near the end of the event.
Upon registration we are allowing attendees to submit questions in advance on things that they would be interested in learning more about. Questions can be directed to a specific speaker or to one of the topics in general. Identities of those submitting questions will remain anonymous.
