Vermont Members Receive AIANE Design Awards

Seven Honor Awards, six Merit Awards, and twelve Citation Awards were announced late last fall for the AIA New England 2017 Regional Design Awards for Excellence in Architecture hosted by AIA New Hampshire in Portsmouth.

AIANE Names New Officers & Representatives

The AIANE Regional Council, which consists of New England AIA Component presidents, executive directors, Council officers, and representatives from other AIA membership groups, recently named new officers and representatives at the AIANE Annual Meeting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire last fall.

Waterbury State Office Earns LEED Platinum Certification

News

Some of Vermont’s largest and oldest office buildings are now also among the state’s greenest. In December 2017 the United States Green Building Council awarded the State Office Complex in Waterbury, Vermont its highest honor: LEED Platinum.

Scholarship Winners Announced at AIAVT Annual Meeting

AIA Vermont granted the final three of six awards to students of architecture this year. The awards were made possible through the Hanne N. Williams Scholars Fund, which derives support from the AIAVT Guy Teschmacher Memorial Golf Tournament, the AIA National Component Matching Grant Program, and other sources.

New Nomenclature 
More in keeping with our bylaws, AIAVT is now referring to “Affiliate Members” as “Allied Members.” The Allied class of membership refers to sole proprietors or representatives from multiple-employee businesses not otherwise eligible for membership in the Institute or the chapter. Affiliates will refer to students that are undergraduates or post-graduates of architecture schools or secondary schools within the territory of our chapter.
