Now in its 4th year, AIAVT’s Architectural Trivia Night continues to hold its own as a crowd favorite when it comes to AIAVT events. This year’s game was emcee’d by our Awards Committee Co-Chairs, Ryan Edwards, AIA, and Jeff Stetter, AIA who bravely stepped up to fill the shoes of Rolf Kielman, who was ready to come back to reprise this role but unfortunately had to pass the baton at the last minute due to a bad cold.

On April 27th at Pizza44 in Burlington, Ryan and Jeff presented six rounds of questions to eight teams who competed for prizes, and for the glory of winning the nerdiest version of trivia to grace Pine Street. The competition was fierce throughout the evening, with three teams seemingly neck and neck right up until the very end, when “God is in the Details”, the team from Duncan Wisniewski, took the title of grand prize winners- which maintains their title from last year. That team included Arthur Chukhman, Bob Duncan, Eli Maroscher and Michael Wisniewski. This impressive victory was earned despite the inclusion of multiple questions that stumped most teams. Much to the delight of Jeff McBride, AIA, the member of the awards committee who came up with this year’s questions, the anagrams round seemed to really confound most of the crowd, with only three out of eight teams getting above a zero.

Trivia night is an important fundraising event, with the proceeds going to support the Carol Miklos Community Outreach Grant, created to support initiatives and special funding requests which have the potential to foster engagement with architecture and design in Vermont's communities. This year’s grant application deadline is coming up June 1- so please take a look and encourage folks to apply!
