The State of Vermont Department of Buildings and General is seeking a Buildings Engineer II to manage a diverse portfolio of state facility construction projects.
The Department of Buildings and General Services is seeking to fill three (3) Buildings Engineer II positions. We are accepting applications from all architectural and engineering candidates, but the preferred backgrounds are Architect, Mechanical Engineer, or Electrical Engineer. Candidates should have experience associated with capital improvement and maintenance projects. In addition to project management and design, tasks may also include acting as liaison to legislative and/or Operations and Maintenance personnel, maintaining BAS and DDC systems (Mechanical Engineer), and technical reviews. As needed, this position will also assist the Design and Construction Program Chief managing technical reviews, vendor evaluations, design guidelines, standard specifications, and procedures.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who excels at breaking down problems and building solutions with the proven ability to establish productive working relationships; collaborate and communicate effectively; successfully keep projects on schedule and on budget; and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering required.
