Heat pumps provide efficient heating and cooling, but only if they are suitable for the building. The wrong heat pump can result in high energy bills, muggy indoor conditions in the summer and over-reliance on supplemental heat in the winter. Join Efficiency Vermont for a demonstration of several tools that can assist with selecting the right heat pump for the job.
Several free heat load calculators will be shown and compared. These online resources can help with sales, giving the customer confidence the proposed heat pump will meet their goals. And the results of the load calculation can be used to evaluate heat pump performance for efficient system operation.
The NEEP Cold Climate Heat Pump sizing analysis, another free online resource, will be demonstrated with several common scenarios. Between easy access to load calculations and to equipment performance analysis, contractors will have the essential tools at their fingertips for good system design and equipment selection.
