AIAVT Welcomes Two New Board Members for 2023
AIA Vermont is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the 2023 Board of Directors. Paula Sherr and Andres Gutierrez were voted in by members at the 2022 Annual Meeting will take part in their first board meeting in January.
Paula Sherr is an Associate at TruexCullins. Prior to TruexCullins, Paula worked at architectural firms in Vermont and New York City, and Seattle. Originally from Maryland, Paula now lives in Hinesburg with her husband Zac, her niece Shiva, and two ridiculous dogs. Her acute interest in creative problem solving and collaboration, along with a deep love for all things design, led her to the practice of architecture. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2001, Paula’s professional focus had been on single family residential projects in Seattle and New York City. After relocating to Vermont in 2016, she has enjoyed working on residential, hospitality, and workplace projects in VT and WY. In her free time Paula enjoys yoga, skiing, and puttering around in her vegetable garden listening to audio books.
Andres Gutierrez holds a BA from Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia, and a MPS in Design Management from Pratt Institute. In Colombia he worked with Taller de Arquitectura de Bogota, ran his own studio and co-founded a collective of architects, artists and designers. In New York City, he worked for a real estate company helping non-profits and an architecture studio where he focused on the office build-outs for a multi-national company.
He is interested in connecting with emergent professionals in the architecture field and creating a stronger design dialogue between the North and the South of the continent. Andres is an Architectural Designer with Freeman French Freeman.
We are excited to have these two thoughtful and motivated individuals join AIAVT's leadership team, and look forward to working with them to kick off many of the Board of Directors' initiatives and ideas in 2023!
