Devin Bushey Talks about her Experience as AIAVT's Young Architect Representative:
A YAR is an AIA member who has been licensed for less than 10 years and who serves as a liaison between the state chapter (in our case, AIA Vermont) and the Young Architects Forum (YAF) focusing on issues that concern Emerging Professionals (EPs; architects in the early stage of their career).
Devin Bushey, AIA has served as AIAVT's Young Architects Representative. “Being the state’s first YAR presented its challenges as I tried to better understand my role. The position allowed me to gain valuable insight into architectural practice both nationally and within the AIA. I had the opportunity to create social media content, participate in workgroups, plan webinars, and attend AIAVT board meetings. However, I believe the networking opportunities and the connections I made have been the most valuable aspects of this experience for my career at this point.”
