The 2024-25 New England AIA Components Emerging Professional Friendly Firm Survey is officially open!

All architecture firms that have an office(s) in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont and employ AIA members are eligible to apply. There is no charge to apply, only each firm’s dedication to this effort. 

The survey will close on September 20, 2024, at 11:59 pm

INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY:

• At least one Emerging Professional and at least one firm principal should sit down and fill out the survey together.
• The AIA defines an emerging professional (EP) as a professional who has completed their academic studies up to the point of licensure or up to 10 years after completion of their academic studies. Responses to this survey also include students and architects licensed for 10 years or less. 
• The Emerging Professional should have a strong understanding of firm policies and a working knowledge of their peer’s status with NCARB’s AXP program. The questions are intended to frame and document that conversation.
• Please include part-time and full-time staff in your responses to the survey.
• Please allow one hour to complete the survey.
• For the survey results to be valid, one firm principal and one Emerging Professional will provide their contact and firm information at the end of the survey.
• One submission per firm.

Firms meeting the qualifications for this award will be notified by email by September 30, 2024. The awards will be presented at the 2024 New England Architecture Awards ceremony, hosted by AIA Maine. Information is forthcoming.

Firms will be sent the 2024-25 AIA New England Emerging Professional Friendly Firm logo after the awards ceremony to highlight their commitment to emerging professionals. This award is valid for one year, after which firms may reapply for the annual designation. 

This award is being sponsored by New England’s AIA Components.  A committee will review survey responses and award ‘Emerging Professional Friendly’ status to firms that display an outstanding commitment to the development of their Emerging Professional staff.
