Meet AIAVT's New STAR, Beto Silva

AIA Vermont is pleased to announce that board member, Beto Silva, Assoc. AIA, is the new State Associate Representative for VT on the AIA National Associates Committee. The National Associates Committee (NAC) is dedicated to representing and advocating for Associate AIA members in our national, state and local chapters. (Associate AIA members automatically become part of this community.)

Beto is a bilingual Project Designer at Freeman French Freeman.  He graduated from Pratt Institute (‘15) and remained in NYC to work as an architectural designer in both large scale and smaller firms on projects of urban as well as residential scales.  Beto then lived and worked in the smaller scale city of Valencia, Spain from 2018-2020.  This sparked an interest in sustainable approaches towards design with particular attention to maintaining the rich history and culture of communities while adding something new to the urban envelope.

Beto has served on the AIA Vermont Board of Directors since January of 2024, and has been active in a variety of initaitives and events, including the 2024 Resilient Design Charrette event in Barre, where he was a project liaison with the All in for Barre Housing Task Force project. Beto has also been an active member of our Emerging Professionals Network, where he helped to organize TECH_NEST, a group that is focused on new technologies in architectural practices.
