Project Architect/ Project Manager for Thomas Douglas Architects
We are seeking an architect experienced project manager looking for a design oriented, collaborative work environment .
As a project leader, you will make and direct valuable creative and technical contributions to a variety of projects within the office. You will share your experience and knowledge of the practice of architecture as you mentor and support others in the office. Interest in firm leadership and business development is highly desirable.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manage, review, and produce schematic, design development, and construction documents for projects of wide ranging size.
Mentor and manage junior staff and student interns.
Coordinate project documentation execution, construction plans and details, and consultant team while ensuring quality control and completion
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and professional judgment in solving architectural issues
Lead coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and within office
Coordinate engineering systems integration with architectural aspects of projects
Review shop drawings, material samples, and CDs
Perform & oversee construction observation duties
Qualifications:
NAAB Accredited Architecture Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) preferred.
Licensure in Massachusetts, or the ability to become licensed, is required.
5-7 years of experience in professional architectural office environments.
Experience working in the public & institutional realm is a plus.
Familiarity with building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems
Strong skill set in sustainable, resilient design with ability to integrate into design on every level.
PHIUS, LEED & WELL Accreditation a plus.
Versatile computer skills: BIM, 3D and 2D graphic design programs desirable.
Excellent organizational and communications skills.
A positive attitude and genuine excitement for design.
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Location:
The office is located in the heart of downtown Northampton, MA. Most staff work in the office every day, but a flexible schedule is an option after 90 days of employment.
